These photos were received from Bill Douglas. Thank you Bill. Bill is the the oldest grandchild of John and Hannah Grehan and, though born in England, he and his sister Ann lived in Taughmacconnell for two periods in the 1950’s.

2nd Edition “Taughmaconnell: a History” January 2019
Taughmaconnell historical & heritage group are delighted to announce the availability of the much anticipated 2nd Edition of the ‘Taughmaconnell: A History’ book, which was published just before the Christmas break. This 2nd edition of the book explores the history and times past of the parish of Taughmaconnell in South Roscommon and comes eighteen years on from the first iteration. The aim of the book is to provide a window into a way of life, much of which is no longer to be seen. It is the story of struggle, comradeship and an appreciation of community. Over thirty extra pages of content and images has been added to the original publication, covering a variety of topics. Retailing at €20, the book is available now in most local retail outlets in Taughmaconnell, Brideswell, Dysart, Monksland and in Salmon’s bookshop, Ballinasloe.
